On the first day of school, there may be a few more items that your child’s teachers will ask to be brought to their specific classrooms.

Below, you will find a piece out of the Comal ISD Student and Parent Handbook. Our academic expectations for our students at SVMS are high, we keep distractions low, and SVMS feels the same way about the dress code. Our goal is to have every student in their classrooms everyday, so please take these guidelines into account before shopping for next school year. Keep in mind the following regarding the interpretative nature of the policy (as not every possible instance of appropriate or inappropriate grooming or appearance is addressed). Therefore, a good rule of thumb includes the following:
1. Shorts and Skirts should be below the fingertips in length.
2. Jeans and shorts should not have any holes, tears, frays, or rips…
    not even expensive, faux ones.
3. Hair should be a natural color and a non-distracting cut
(ie. No streaks or highlights from the ROY G BIV color spectrum, No mohawks, words
    or designs, No feathers)
4. Earrings are for ears! No other piercings will be allowed.

Interpretative Authority
